English Perfume
Grandiflora

It is said that we should stop to smell the roses.  English Perfume will make you do that, not only for its heavenly old rose fragrance that will draw you from afar, but also for the beauty of its 4 to 5-inch blooms with up to 60 or more ovoid and ruffled petals.  The blooms are produced on 18 to 22-inch practically thornless stems.  The bush grows to 5½ feet high by 3½ feet wide with attractive dark green and semi-glossy foliage.   It has a well-branched and rounded growth habit making it a great addition to your cutting garden.  Its beauty and productivity make it a wonderful complement to your other perennials too.

It was introduced by Jackson and Perkins in 1999 and is the first lavender English rose.  It is hardy to Zone 7.  As with other light-colored roses, the blooms attract thrips.  A good spray program to protect it from insects, blackspot and mildew should insure you a bountiful harvest of beautiful blooms for garden, house and rose shows.
