Joyfulness
Hybrid Tea

This hybrid tea was bred in Germany (1982) by Mathias Tantau with unknown parentage and is also known as TANsinnroh, Peccato di Giola and Frohsinn.  Its bloom is designated as an apricot blend with 35 petals and light fragrance.  The bush usually grows to a height of 4 to 5 feet and a width of 3 feet.

The outstanding feature of Joyfulness is its variable color.  In cool weather the blooms appear creamy white with pink edges and a hint of yellow at the center.  As the weather warms, the blooms can be described as a pale coral with slightly paler shades on the petal backs and darker edges.  This darkening is triggered by heat, which turns the flowers apricot colored with crimson edges.   Its beauty is accented by large shiny dark-green foliage.

With an overall rating of 8.1 in the American Rose Society Handbook for Roses, Joyfulness is excellent for cutting and exhibition.  It is an absolutely beautiful standout in the garden and in a vase.

Joyfulness can be purchased bare-root from Arena Roses – telephone: 1-888-466-7434 and email: www.arenaroses.com.  Arena Roses ships December through April.
