Louise Estes
by Susan and Walter Reinhardt

About three years ago, my husband decided that he wanted "a rose bush". Instead of one, he purchased two. Our two bushes doubled, tripled, and so on. We now are up to about 180, 50 of which are miniatures, 100 which are hybrid teas, and the rest are a mixture.
Of all of our garden roses, Louise Estes happens to be one of our favorites. In fact, we liked it so well that we have several of the beautiful pink hybrid tea roses that Cecil Godman hooked us on. She receives regular feeding and is sprayed for disease, and she has rewarded us with many, many blooms. Louise is exhibition worthy as well as garden worthy, and she has been on many trophy tables, several times as Queen.

Louise Estes (Seedling X Miss Canada) was hybridized in 1991 by Joseph F. Winchell. It is a pink blend with white reverse, and darkens as it ages. The rose's namesake, Louise Estes, is a dedicated rosarian and artist.
