MAVRIK Class: Hybrid Tea, Large-flowered Parentage: Louise Estes x Signature Breeding: Bred in the United States in 1999 by Eddie Edwards and introduced in 2000 by Johnny Becnel Show Roses The American Rose Society Handbook for Selecting Roses classifies Mavrik as a pink blend with a rating of 7.8, indicating a solid to very good rose. This is an interim rating which may change due to the fact that Mavrik is relatively new. I absolutely love this rose! The pink blend with white reverse coloring is stunning! With an average diameter of 6”, the blooms have 26 to 40 petals and a mild fragrance. Mavrik has superb exhibition form and, most of the time, blooms one rose to a stem on very long stems. I have been growing Mavrik since the spring of 2001. The first year the bush got tall (reaches 6’ to 7’), but the blooms didn’t have the size or form that I wanted to see. Then as it got established in the second and third years, it was one of the most beautiful roses in my garden. I have not had any problems with black spot or mildew with this rose. Mavrik is a must-have for any garden and especially for exhibitors. Mavrik can be purchase by mail order from these two nurseries online.
